(Worthy News) – On Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced they had struck two Hezbollah weapons depots, located near Sidon, a coastal city in southern Lebanon.
During a televised press briefing, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari confirmed that the Israeli military executed airstrikes on two weapon storage depots near Sidon.
The retaliatory airstrikes were in response to an early Monday morning drone attack launched by Hezbollah targeting northern Israel, which did not cause any damage or injuries.
The IDF is conducting an investigation into the Monday morning incident, where a drone carrying explosives hit an open area near the northern town of Arbel, without triggering any warning sirens.
Lebanese media reported that an Israeli airstrike in the town of Ghaziyeh, situated on the southern fringes of Sidon in Lebanon, resulted in 14 people being injured.
The IDF also announced that on Monday afternoon, it targeted additional Hezbollah locations in southern Lebanon, specifically in Mays al-Jabal and Odaisseh. This followed earlier strikes on Hezbollah facilities in Dhayra, rocket-launching sites in Aitaroun, and various Hezbollah infrastructures in Odaisseh.
Since October 8, Hezbollah has launched almost daily attacks on Israeli border communities and military outposts, claiming to support Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict. This has prompted Israeli counterstrikes and continuous cross-border exchanges, resulting in the displacement of approximately 80,000 Israelis from their homes in border areas along the Lebanese border.
